Education's masters degree wins national award

26 October 2005

The Education faculty has won a national training and development award for its Master in Counselling degree.

The award -- Most Popular Australian Counselling Association-Recognised Training Course -- was given by the association at its national conference in Melbourne held from 14 to 16 October.

The Monash course competed with 35 courses across Australia that are recognised by the association.

Professor Dennis Moore, who heads the Master in Counselling group, said it was great recognition for the team.

"It is fantastic news," Professor Moore said. "It is especially gratifying to realise that the faculty was nominated by the students doing the course. The association commented that we have very happy students who think it is a great training program."
