CD Launch: Tastings - Impromptu, Cheese and Wine - Clayton

Presented by the Monash University Club and Angove Family Winemakers

Patrons will be greeted in the Narthex at 6 pm with a glass of Angove's Regent Brut sparkling wine and Tarrago River Cheeses.

Commencing at 6.30 pm in the Main Chapel, pianist and Monash staff member Brian Chapman will present a one-hour lecture-recital followed by tasting of wines and cheeses in the Narthex. Patrons will be provided with musical program notes and wine tasting notes.

The lecture-recital will present the following works selected from 'Impromptu - A Collection of Impromptus, Fantasies and Impressions':

  • Schubert's 'Impromptus' in G flat (Op.90 No.3) and A flat (Op.142 No.2);
  • Beethoven's 'Sonata quasi una fantasia' in E flat (Op.27 No.1);
  • Granados's 'The Maiden and the Nightingale' and Albeniz's 'El Albaicin' from Iberia Book III;
  • Debussy's 'Clair de Lune' and 'Gardens under Rain'.

Admission cost is redeemable against CD purchases (limited one per CD).
