Looking for pre-school children for sleep researchPublished: 14 October 2009 The Ritchie Centre for Baby Health Research is carrying out studies on the effects of sleep disordered breathing (snoring) on academic performance and the cardiovascular system in children (three to five years). We are looking for volunteers of non-snoring children to serve as controls. The studies are carried out at the Melbourne Children's Sleep Unit at Monash Medical Centre. We will attach leads to measure brain activity, breathing and heart rate and a small finger cuff to measure blood pressure whilst the children sleep overnight. None of these measurements hurt your child in any way. Studies are overnight from 6 pm and there are facilities for making tea and coffee and lots of kids movies to watch. Parents are required to stay and sleep overnight. After the study a psychology student will visit your house for some fun psychological testing. For further information contact: |
