Ian Maclean Award 2009

The National Archives of Australia encourages excellence in the archival profession. These awards are offered to individuals interested in conducting research that will benefit the archival and historical profession in Australia.

More than one award may be granted. The award is open to overseas applicants. The award will enable the recipient to complete an innovative research project. Successful applicants are expected to actively promote the results of their research.

Successful applicants are likely to be experienced practitioners, educators or administrators with an established record of achievement in research who can provide new insights or innovations in the archival profession.

Up to $15,000 will be awarded for:

  • living expenses
  • airfares and accommodation within Australia
  • copying costs and special software needs

The National Archives grants program opens each year on the last Friday in March and closes on the last Friday in June.
