SPHPM Short Course - Introduction to systematic reviews of interventionsPublished: 3 June 2009 This two-day course is convened by Ms Miranda Cumpston of the Australasian Cochrane Centre based at the Monash Institute of Health Services Research. It will take a step-by-step approach to the tasks and methods involved in conducting a systematic review to answer a question about the effects of a health-related intervention, from a simple drug treatment to a complex public health or health systems intervention. A mixture of presentations and hands-on activities will be used to introduce participants to major aspects of the review process. Day one will cover defining your research question, planning your inclusion criteria, searching the literature, and assessing bias in included studies. Day two will cover an introduction to meta-analysis, analysing different types of commonly encountered data, and interpreting your results. Time: 9 am to 5 pm For further information contact: |
