New motorcycle riders needed for focus group study

Published: 27 May 2009

Research is being conducted by the Monash University Accident Research Centre to study new motorcycle riders' perceptions of current and potential aspects of the licensing process for motorcyclists in Victoria.

Riders are needed who:

  • Are aged either between 18 and 24 years or 30 years and over; and
  • Are new to riding - i.e. they hold
    • a valid Victorian motorcycle learner's permit;
    • a valid Victorian motorcycle probationary licence and have held that licence for no more than 12 months; or
    • a valid Victorian motorcycle full licence and have held that licence for no more than 12 months (i.e. full licence with restrictions).

Participation involves a single focus group session of a maximum of two hours. The focus groups are being held at the Clayton campus of Monash University.

Each participant will be paid $20 for his/her involvement.
