Margaret George Award 2009

Published: 27 May 2009

Scholars who are still establishing a profile in their chosen career should consider applying for the Margaret George Award. Successful applicants will have scholarly credentials and will have completed a postgraduate degree. Applicants could be emergent historians, academics, independent researchers or journalists with a talent for research.

The National Archives is encouraging applications that will increase knowledge of the photographic, film, music and audio materials held in its collection. Historical research on other formats, such as paper files, maps and plans will receive equal consideration.

The award can be undertaken at any one of the National Archives' offices, which are located in every Australian capital city. Assistance up to the value of $10,000 is provided.

The National Archives grants program opens each year on the last Friday in March and closes on the last Friday in June.
