English Language Growth (ELG) Project

Published: 1 April 2009

The ELG project is running again this semester. The project is investigating ways to better assist international students from non-English speaking backgrounds to develop their english skills.

We need student volunteers to tell us about the strategies they use to develop their English skills and how and where they use english in their work, leisure and study. Participants will be asked to complete an online questionnaire and can volunteer to take part in an interview or discussion board if they choose.

The ELG website provides resources to help students improve their English. These resources will be added to as the research progresses, and ultimately packaged into a DVD for students at the five participating universities.

Students participating in the research will again have the chance to win a I-Pod nano 8GB.

This research is funded across five Australian universities by the Australian Learning and Teaching Council.

Date: Monday 20 March to Monday 1 May, 2009
