Nominations now open for the 2009 Distinguished Alumni Awards

Nominations for the Monash University 2009 Distinguished Alumni Awards are now open. This is your opportunity to recognise the achievements of outstanding members of the Monash University alumni community. Nominations close Friday 20 March, 2009. There are three categories:

1. Distinguished Alumni Award. Previous recipients include renowned scientist Professor Tim Flannery(MSc 1981), innovative surgeon Dr Susan Lim (MBBS(Hons) 1979), Indigenous leader Professor Mick Dodson AM (BJuris 1974, LLB 1978) and prominent barrister Mr Julian Burnside AO QC (BEc 1972, LLB 1973).
2. Distinguished Young Alumni Award. The humanitarian efforts of Dr David Mitchell (MBBS 2000) were recognised in 2008. Dr Renea Taylor (BSc(Hons) 1998, PhD 2003) and her breakthrough medical research work were honoured in 2007.
3. Distinguished Alumni Service Award. In 2007 and 2008 Monash recognised Mr Alistair Lloyd AO RFD ED (PhC 1956) and Mr John Sturdy (BE(Hons) 1978, MEngSc 1988, MBA 1990), and the founders/first presidents of Monash's most established alumni chapters.
