Are you or your partner expecting a baby?Published: 25 February 2009 The Ritchie Centre for Baby Health Research is carrying out studies on the effects of prone sleeping (sleeping babies on their tummies) blood pressure and brain oxygenation and we are looking for volunteers and their healthy term babies. The studies are carried out at the Monash Medical Centre at 3-4 weeks and 2-3 months and 5-6 months of age. We will attach leads to measure brain activity and oxygenation, breathing and heart rate and blood pressure, these all stick on and none of these hurt your baby in any way. Studies take about 5 hours each and we offer a relaxing day with free babysitting together with loads of information about baby sleep! Siblings are welcome and we are very flexible on study times, free parking is available too. For very busy mums, we also have another study which only requires one visit at 2-3 weeks in which we are assessing a new method of measuring sleep in infants. For further information contact: |
