Monash University Transition Roundtable - Clayton

The inaugural Monash University Transition Roundtable was held at the Clayton campus in November 2008. The event provided allowed internal participants to share their expertise and discuss the broad range of transition-related initiatives that exist to help Monash students adjust to life and learning at university.

More than 200 Monash University and secondary school staff attended.

Keynote speaker Sally Kift, a Professor of Law from Queensland University of Technology, discussed best practice transition activities and her ALTC (Carrick) Senior Fellowship project.

Following the keynote address participants attended seminars on Monash transition activities and approaches, including sessions where student speakers spoke about their transition experiences.

In the afternoon Professor Mark Peel provided background to transition theory and practice and Professor Max King described transition from the perspective of higher degree by research students.
