The CLEAR Project information session for academic staff - Clayton campus

Published: 11 February 2009

The Communication and Language Enhancement for Academics and Researchers (CLEAR) project is a Monash strategic initiative delivered by the Centre for Advancement of Learning and Teaching (CALT).

CLEAR assists participants to:

  • Improve spoken English clarity
  • Interact more effectively with colleagues and students
  • Teach with greater skill and confidence
  • Develop intercultural communication skills and strategies

Over three hundred Monash staff took part in CLEAR in 2007 and 2008 either through the Spoken English and Communication Skills Program, or through a series of practical and well-received workshops.

The one-hour information session presents an overview of the types of diversity issues emerging for academic staff. It also provides details of the staff development opportunities available for individuals and faculties through CLEAR.

The optional focus group forum explores staff-student communication issues from a staff perspective.

Time: 12 pm to 2 pm
Date: Thursday 19 February, 2009 and Monday 23 February, 2009
Venue: L4, Building 12, Clayton campus
