Social anxiety study seeks males for brain imaging studyPublished: 11 February 2009 Is shyness or social anxiety a problem for you? Do you fear social situations (e.g. meeting new people, public speaking)? Are you diagnosed with Social Phobia (SP) or Generalised Social Anxiety Disorder (GSAD) or think you may suffer from this? Participation: A medical screen (session one), and two brain imaging (MRI) sessions (sessions two and three) during which you will be administered one of two treatments (Oxytocin or Placebo). Eligibility: Males with either a potential or current diagnosis of social anxiety (diagnosis can be determined/confirmed during session one under no costs), aged between 18-55 years, right-handed, non-smoker, no drug/alcohol abuse, medication free and no metal objects in body.
