Faculty of Education Public Lecture - ClaytonPublished: 26 November 2008 Title: 'Mathematics Teacher Education: A Practical Field and an Emerging Field of Research' Dr Konrad Krainer is professor at the University of Klagenfurt (Austria) and heads the Institute of Instructional and School Development. He is the leader of the Austrian-wide Initiative IMST (Innovations in Mathematics, Science and Technology Teaching, 2000-2009) and a member of the University’s Senate. He is a Founding Member of the Board of the European Society for Research in Mathematics Education and contributed to establishing a Summer School for Young Researchers. He is one of the Co-Editors of JMTE and the International Handbook of Mathematics Teacher Education. His research interests are mathematics teacher education, school development and educational system development. All welcome.
