English Language Growth (ELG) Project

Published: 15 October 2008

This project is investigating ways to better assist international students from non-English speaking backgrounds develop their English skills.

We need student volunteers to tell us about the strategies they use to develop their English skills; how and where they use English in their work, leisure and study; and what assistance their universities provide to support their English development. Participants will be asked to complete an online questionnaire and to volunteer to take part in an interview. They can also share their experiences with others via an online discussion board.

The ELG website provides resources to help students improve their English. These resources will be added to as the research progresses, and ultimately packaged into a DVD for students and professional development program for staff.

Students participating in the research have the chance to win an i-Pod.
