Intensive Bioethics Course 2008

The Centre for Human Bioethics' annual Intensive Bioethics Course is in its 24th year in 2008. The course outlines general ethical frameworks, along with specific ethical principles underpinned by those frameworks, in the context of current developments in biotechnology, clinical practice, and the ethical oversight of research on humans.

Several hundred Australian and international health professionals have taken part in the course. Many Research Ethics Committees delegate some of their members to this sought-after event, and members of clinical ethics committees, as well as health professionals from many fields have also participated.

Speakers include Monash academics Linda Barclay, Sue Hawes, Justin Oakley, Alan Petersen and Rob Sparrow , Lisa Bridle (QCIDD), Julian Gardner (former Public Advocate for Vic.), Lynn Gillam (Melbourne) and Loane Skene (Melbourne).

Cost: $2115 includes all accommodation, meals, tuition.
Date: Sunday 23 November, 2008 to Friday 28 November, 2008
