Published: 1 October 2008

Bioinformatics is an emerging discipline that combines computing with the life sciences, developing technologies for storing and analysing biological information. Around 100 researchers, practitioners and students nationally and from across the world are expected to attend the third international conference on Pattern Recognition in Bioinformatics (PRIB) in Melbourne from Wednesday 15 to Friday 17 October.

The conference, hosted by Monash University’s Faculty of Information Technology and the International Association for Pattern Recognition, is expected to have delegates from 20 countries presenting their research in the pattern recognition and computational intelligence methods in the field of bioinformatics.
