Refashioning the Classics: Modern Fabrications of the Ancient World -- Caulfield

Professor Simon Goldhill, Professor of Greek at the University of Cambridge, will make his first visit to Australia as the guest of the Monash Classical Studies Program. During his visit, Professor Goldhill will give talks and seminar presentations for the Centres of Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies and the Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation.
Professor Goldhill will deliver the keynote address, The Audience in Sophocles, at the Refashioning the Classics: Modern Fabrications of the Ancient World conference.
Professor Goldhill is one of the most eminent and well-known contemporary commentators on classical literature and culture. Author of over 10 monographs, he has consistently been one of the most innovative and provocative voices in classical scholarship.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
