Staff Development Series -- Caulfield

This seminar will outline market based approaches to environmental regulation with a particular focus on proposals for a national emissions trading regime -- Carbon Pollution Reduction System -- to take effect in 2010. Particular consideration will be given to changing skill set that business graduates will need to work in the new 'carbon economy'.

Wayne Gumley is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Business Law and Taxation who teaches includes environmental law and corporate environmental responsibility. He is also an active researcher in the area of environmental law and ecological tax reform, and National Editor of the National Environmental Law Review. He is also a member of the Vice-Chancellors Working Group on Environment and co-leader of the Climate Change and Sustainable Business Project.
