Oral Health of Rural Populations in Australia Symposium -- Shepparton

Presented by the CRC for Oral Health Science and School of Rural Health at the University of Melbourne, Monash University School of Rural Health and Department of Human Services.

The disparity between the oral health of people living in rural areas in Australia and metropolitan populations is striking. This symposium will explore the explanations and experiences behind the facts and statistics, and consider strategies to reduce oral health inequities.

Topics include:

  • the role of health promotion and telemedicine in rural communities
  • epidemiological trends
  • oral health service planning for rural communities
  • perspectives of rural health practitioners and consumers.

This event is suitable for oral health professionals, health and public health professionals, medical doctors, hospital and clinic directors, educators, policymakers, students and those interested in rural health issues.

There is no registration fee.
