Race Against Poverty

Published: 6 August 2008

A fundraising initiative organised by the Monash chapter of the Golden Key International Honour Society.

The second annual Race Against Poverty will be held on Sunday 17, 2008 kicking off from Federation Square, Melbourne.

The event is based on the television series The Amazing Race. Teams of 2 to 5 will use cryptic clues to identify and navigate their way to various landmarks around the CBD area, taking photos of themselves as they go.

The three teams who reach the greatest number of checkpoints within the specified time limit will be awarded prizes. All competitors will receive a complimentary lunch at the conclusion of the race (around 2 pm).

Remember to bring your own cameras and to wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather conditions.

All proceeds to the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund Australia (UNICEF).

The Golden Key International Honour Society is a non-profit scholastic organisation. The Monash chapter is committed to fundraising for charities such as Ian Thorpe's Fountain of Youth, UNICEF, The Red Cross and Beyond Blue through various community-orientated events.
