MURPA International Research Seminar Series -- Clayton

Published: 16 July 2008

Monash Undergraduate Research Projects Abroad (MURPA) is presenting a series of research seminars featuring leading researchers from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD).

Seminar one: International research and education -- opportunities and challenges

Investments in networking and other aspects of cyber infrastructure have created opportunities to address new questions, create new teams and organisations and provide new experiences for students. This talk highlights the experiences of the Pacific Rim Application and Grid Middleware Assembly (PRAGMA) in creating a test bed for avian flu virtual screening, networks for lake and coral reef observing and a framework -- called PRIME -- for educational experiences via specific projects.

Most sessions will be presented via interactive video link from San Diego.

Presenter: Chair of the Pacific Rim Application and Grid Middleware Assembly Dr Peter Arzberger.
Time: 10 am to 12 pm
Date: Friday July 18, 2008
Venue: Building 26, Room: 135, Clayton campus
