The struggle of educators to act professionally in an era of neo-liberalist standards-based reform

by Professor Peter Grimmett, Simon Fraser University, Canada

Peter is Professor of Education. He is currently involved in a five-year Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada-funded $2.5 million Canada-wide study of the impact of public policy decisions on conditions of teaching and learning. Recently he completed a review of teacher education program accreditation for the province of Ontario. He has published widely and has been a keynote speaker at numerous international conferences.
