Physiological responses to music in film

Published: 16 July 2008

We are currently looking for participants for a study looking at the effect that music has on the way we experience film images. The experiment involves watching a short film with either music or no music playing, whilst physiological measures of emotion are recorded.

To be eligible to participate, you must:

  • be aged between 18-55 years;
  • not be on mood stabilising medication;
  • not have not been associated with a serious road accident; and
  • must not have a phobia of blood or needles.

You will be required to attend a one hour session at either the Clayton or Caulfield campus, and then log onto a website one week later for a second session which will take half an hour to complete.

Participants go in the draw to win two Gold Class cinema tickets.
