Effects of passionflower herbal tea on sleep quality and quantity

Healthy volunteers aged 18 to 35 are being sought to participate in this sleep study. The primary aim is to investigate the effects of passionflower tea on sleep. This will lead to a better understanding of whether passionflower can improve human sleep.

You will undertake the following tasks:

  • Prepare and drink each of the passionflower tea (listed with the Therapeutic Goods Administration as a herbal medicine in Australia) and the placebo tea for 7 days, with a one week break in between.
  • Fill in a sleep simple diary.
  • Fill in Spielberger's State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI).
  • Have your sleep patterns recorded at the Caulfield sleep lab (Reimbursement: $20 or a taxi voucher) OR your home on two occasions -- optional task.
