Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Vic -- A Song To Sing O - Parkville

Published: 11 June 2008

Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Victoria presents A Song To Sing O.

A Song to Sing O is Melvyn Morrow's wonderfully theatrical play with music and songs, celebrates the career of George Grossmith, the first Gilbert and Sullivan patter comedian. The play is set backstage as Grossmith makes up for his last performance at the Savoy Theatre in 1888, as Jack Point in The Yeomen of the Guard. He recounts his career, and sings songs from the roles he created such as Ko Ko, Robin Oakapple and The Lord Chancellor.
