Focus on Japan: Collaboration Opportunities -- Clayton

Published: 14 May 2008

Japan’s national goal is to become an advanced science and technology oriented nation. Under the Science and Technology Basic Plan (2006-2010), the government has committed US$235 billion. The basic plan covers broad multidisciplinary goals including: innovation in science and technology, advanced manufacturing, sustainable economic growth, environmental protection, securing public health and creating an industrial edge.

New opportunities for collaboration with Japan under the S&T Basic Plan have been developed through a range of programs.

The seminar will focus on:

  • recent developments in Japan’s education and research environment;
  • how Monash University can engage with the Japanese government, institutions and industries;
