Who stays? Who goes? HDR retention and attrition at Monash - ClaytonPublished: 2 April 2008 Ilana Snyder and Helen Forgasz Wednesday, 9 April 2008, 1 - 2 pm Clayton Campus This is the first of six seminars on higher degree issues initiated by the Research Degrees and Induction Committee, Faculty of Education. This seminar reports the results of a study on factors that contribute to Higher Degree by Research (HDR) completions and non-completions. The study is part of a larger investigation on student retention at Monash. The results will contribute to understanding why a surprisingly high proportion of HDR students do not complete their research degrees. Some suggestions will be provided on how to reduce attrition rates. Enquiries to the Faculty Research Office on +61 3 9905 2896 or seminars@education.monash.edu.au.
