Who stays? Who goes? HDR retention and attrition at Monash - Clayton

Published: 2 April 2008

Ilana Snyder and Helen Forgasz

Wednesday, 9 April 2008, 1 - 2 pm

Clayton Campus
Building 6, Room G23

This is the first of six seminars on higher degree issues initiated by the Research Degrees and Induction Committee, Faculty of Education. This seminar reports the results of a study on factors that contribute to Higher Degree by Research (HDR) completions and non-completions. The study is part of a larger investigation on student retention at Monash. The results will contribute to understanding why a surprisingly high proportion of HDR students do not complete their research degrees. Some suggestions will be provided on how to reduce attrition rates.

Enquiries to the Faculty Research Office on +61 3 9905 2896 or seminars@education.monash.edu.au.
