The 17th Biennial Conference of the Asian Studies Association of Australia

ASAA and Monash Asia Institute invite you to the largest gathering of expertise on Asia in the southern hemisphere. The conference will:

  • Provide a forum for 400 scholars and observers to evaluate trends in Asia's many regions and cultures
  • Link these trends to global scenarios
  • Offer multi-disciplinary, cross-country, inter-regional and inter-cultural panels
  • Provide special panels and a plenary session for teachers
  • Host a postgraduate workshop on the 30th June
  • Host international guests such as Dai Qing on China's water problems and Aitzaz Ahsan on the defence of Pakistan's civil society

We invite you to attend as a conference speaker or observer.

Abstracts and papers are now invited.  Early bird registration closes on 16 April 2008. All postgraduate students who register for the ASAA conference will be able to attend for free a Postgraduate Workshop on 30 June 2007.
