Artists from near and far at Switchback

The Switchback Gallery at the Gippsland campus is currently showing work by two final year Monash Master of Visual Arts students, Michael Gallop and Christophe LaBlache de Charmoy. Michael grew up in the Latrobe Valley while Christophe is an international student from the Seychelles.

Dealing with issues of power and helplessness, Michael's amazingly detailed carvings of animal life meditate on how important freedom and movement are to our sense of self.

Christophe's paintings celebrate freedom through their pure joy and vitality -- it's painting that comes close to dancing.

The exhibition closes 4 March at 5pm.
