Email, calendar review project update

Earlier this year Information Technology Services (ITS) commissioned a review of workgroup and collaboration services for staff including email, calendar, document sharing, collaboration groups, videoconferencing, mailing lists and instant messaging.

Many staff participated in the process of developing requirements for possible workgroup collaboration solutions for the university. These requirements have been passed to major vendors who, in response have proposed a range of options. The options have been shortlisted based on an evaluation of their capability of meeting users' requirements and will be further investigated. Recommendations on a preferred solution will be submitted to university senior management early next year.
