Faculty of Education symposium and book launch

'Teaching international students' symposium and book launch

When: Wednesday 16 November, 1 -- 4 pm
Where: Elizabeth Burchill room, building 68, Clayton campus

'Teaching international students: Improving learning for all', edited by Ms Jude Carroll, Oxford Brookes University and Dr Janette Ryan, Faculty of Education, will be launched by the Faculty of Education's Associate Dean - Research, Professor Jane Kenway.

The book launch will be followed by a symposium on issues in teaching international students. This will include presentations by several of the book's chapter contributors, including:

  • Dr JanetteRyan, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Education, Monash
  • Ms Jude Carroll, Oxford Brookes University , United Kingdom
  • Professor Graham Webb, pro vice-chancellor (quality), Monash
  • Dr Betty Leask, dean, Teaching and Learning, University of South Australia
  • Dr Pat McLean, director, Equity, Language and Learning Programs, University of Melbourne
  • Professor Jim Sillitoe, Student Learning Unit, Victoria University

This will be followed by short presentations on current research being undertaken at Monash on aspects of teaching international students.
