THRIVE Booster session -- 'Managing Diversity in Tense Situations'

All past and present THRIVE participants and interested staff are invited to attend this session.

Mr Jimmy Yeow, counsellor and International Student outreach worker, Student and Staff Community Services, aims to provide some additional insights for staff to assist them in their understanding and handling of students from distinctly diverse cultural backgrounds, who come to them with challenging issues and behaviours.

It will highlight some of the complexities involved in managing and assisting students with their genuine academic and personal difficulties, who possess differing world views and capabilities. It will emphasize the development of effective and mutually harmonious working relationships that seek to enhance their goals and provide a positive experience at the university.

When: Tuesday 18 October, 1 - 2 pm
Where: Language and Learning Seminar Room, 1st floor, Campus Centre, Clayton campus

To register email lynette.waldron@adm.monash.edu.au.
