UNICEF and Politics at Monash public lecture21 September 2005 'Helping the children of Timor-Leste', by Mrs Aicha Bassarewan, Vice-Minister for Planning in the first Constitutional Government of Timor-Leste and Shui-Meng Ng, UNICEF Representative of Timor-Leste. When: Monday 3 October, 1 - 2 pm Aicha Bassarewan and Shui-Meng Ng will be talking about UNICEF's work with the children of Timor-Leste. The lecture will cover early childhood development, education and child protection issues. Mrs Bassarewan's experience includes working for two years as Treasurer for the Government in Dili. Shui-Meng Ng, as national UNICEF representative, is responsible for providing overall leadership in strategic planning, policy guidance, and program development of the UNICEF Program of Cooperation with the Government of Timor-Leste.
