'Retail restructuring and consumer choice - long term changes and consumer choice at the household level', by Ian Clarke and Malcolm Kirkup, Lancaster University Management School, UK.

What influences consumers' choices between and within retail stores? What do "convenience", "value" and "habit" mean to different sorts of consumers? They vary according to household context and of course there have been fundamental changes in consumer lifestyles, the global supply and local structure of British food retailing that has significant implications for the Australian situation.
