'Church and state in independent Ukraine: the situation of orthodoxy,' by Dr Frank Sysyn, director, Petro Jacyk Centre of the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies, University of Alberta, Canada.

Dr Frank Sysyn is a specialist in the history of Eastern Europe during the Early Modern period. He is the editor-in-chief of the English translation of Mykhailo Hrushevs'kyi's multi-volume "History of Ukraine-Rus'." His many publications include the books "Between Poland and Ukraine: The Dilemma of Adam Kysil" and, in co-authorship with Serhii Plokhy, "Religion and Nation in Modern Ukraine."
