Monash has launched a new website to help students find volunteer opportunities both on and off campus.
Volunteer Gateway was launched last month and already more than 2000 students have logged on.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Adam Shoemaker said volunteering was a great way to make a contribution to the University and the wider community, as well as develop skills and social and professional networks.
"Volunteering is central to the Monash Passport and based on the idea that the change we bring to the world outside the University is as important as our learning within it," Professor Shoemaker said.
Volunteer Gateway lists opportunities for students to volunteer within the University as well as with student-run and external not-for-profit organisations.
To register to view or advertise volunteer opportunities, visit the Volunteer Gateway website.
A volunteering information desk is also open until 26 March from 10 am to 2 pm on the ground floor of the Clayton Campus Centre to allow students to get more information about Volunteer Gateway and all aspects of volunteering.
Representatives from not-for-profit organisations will also be on hand to talk about their organisation and volunteer vacancies.
