Vote 1 planet Earth

For the first time Monash is participating in Earth Hour 2009 during the global Earth Hour this Saturday 28 March from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm. 1858 cities, towns and municipalities in 81 countries have already committed to Vote Earth for Earth Hour 2009, as part of the world's first global election contest between earth and global warming.

In this month's Ancora Imparo, Vice-Chancellor Richard Larkins discusses the impact of the bushfires upon the Monash community. One staff member and one student lost their lives, others lost friends and relatives. But Monash performed its hosting duties well in Gippsland, and we saw our pioneering work in Indonesia rewarded with a return visit of Indonesian experts on disaster victim identification.
