Monash Professional - Professional Year in Computer SciencePublished: 19 March 2008 The Professional Year is principally for international students seeking to gain permanent residence (participants are expected to be holders of, or those waiting for approval of a 485 Skilled Graduate visa), however, the program is available to all students. It is a part time 12 month program covering a minimum of 44 weeks (with breaks) which includes a 12 week internship component within a host company. The Professional Year in Computer Science (regulated by the Australian Computing Society) will be offered by Monash Professional from mid May 2008 in Melbourne, and in Sydney later in 2008. Additional programs in the disciplines of Accounting and Engineering are also being planned with professional bodies. The Professional Year in Computer Science will consist of four modules:
On successful completion of the program, permanent residency (PR) applicants will have gained points towards migration. Note, the Professional Year program does not guarantee permanent residency.
