Presenters:

Rudy Hirschheim

Abstract:

In this talk, I will discuss what we know about IT Outsourcing based on 20 years of research in the area. The talk will address why Outsourcing has become so popular, how it has morphed from IT Outsourcing to Business Process Outsourcing, the evolution of sourcing to offshore sites, and what is on the horizon in terms of microsourcing and crowdsourcing. In the talk, I also address some areas where research seems to be missing, suggesting avenues for future research.
