Description:

An Exciting Year for Monash Interfaith!

February 2 sees the start of another year of activities for the City of Monash Interfaith Gathering.  The big ‘big ticket’ item will be an Interfaith Festival at the Clayton Centre on April 22. But first things first.

The bi monthly meetings will again be a regular feature and this year sees the continuation of the program of speakers from various faith communities. On February 2 Mohamed Mohideen, the President of the Islamic Association of the Monash Mosque and chair of the Monash University Mosque Committee, will speak to the meeting about Islam and what his faith means to him.

With his Sri Lankan upbringing Mohamed, who is also a member of the City of Monash Multicultural Advisory Committee, brings with him an acceptance of faith in all its forms. He has also served as President of United Sri Lankan Muslim Association of Australia and currently lectures in Microbiology at Monash University.

All faith communities and secular organizations are warmly welcomed to hear him speak at the Council Civic Centre, 293 Springvale Road Glen Waverley at 7pm.
