If you’ve ever been caught in a traffic jam – and who hasn’t? – you’ll know Australia’s urban road networks are fast approaching full capacity.
New research has found that rates of alcohol-related aggression and antisocial behaviours are particularly high in young Australian athletes, compared to their non-sporting peers.
In a landmark study, more than 40 per cent of police officers screened positive for a sleep disorder, contributing to outcomes such as falling asleep while driving, uncontrolled anger towards suspects and health problems.
Reducing traffic congestion on our roads is a real possibility with new research supported by an ARC Linkage Grant suggesting that mathematics might hold the answer to our traffic woes.
