2. Configure your computer

Before using Blackboard it is necessary to set your computer up properly

Please note that Blackboard is only certified to work properly using the following Operating Systems:

  • Windows XP/2000/Vista

  • Macintosh Os X 10.3 (and later).

Any other operating systems (eg Linux) may not work on Blackboard.

MUSO Support is unable to support any problems with operating systems other than Windows / Mac.

While Blackboard will work with most common browsers, not all browsers are compatible.

For your computer to be compatible with Blackboard you will need to do the following:

1. Install Java (It is important that the correct version of Java is installed on your computer.)

2. Download a compatible internet browser (if required) and configure it for Blackboard

3. Turn off any pop-up blockers (eg Google / Yahoo / MSN Live Toolbars, firewalls and antivirus etc)

Please select your operating system:

Windows XP / Vista / 2000

Apple Macintosh (Os X 10.3 or Later)

5. Problems using MUSO?

If you have not used an online learning system before, it can seem quite daunting at first. To make your experience easier, we are in the process of creating instructional guides to using MUSO, such as how to submit an assignment online, or how to participate in discussions. This list will grow over the coming weeks.

If you have a question about MUSO, or if you need assistance using MUSO, you can contact the MUSO Support team.

If you are missing MUSO subjects, please note that while subjects may appear before the start of Semester, a lot of subjects will not appear until the first day of semester. If you are unsure you can contact MUSO Support and we can let you know if your subject is using MUSO and when you will get access to the subject.

If you have recently enrolled in a subject, please note that it can take up to 72 hours to gain access to the MUSO site, even if it appears in your Monash Portal.
