MUSO Support Common Problems - My Computer Icon Missing

Problem

There has been some instances of students who have been unable to access the My Computer icon while uploading assignments into Blackboard.

A typical screenshot is displayed below:


This issue is caused by the user has not accepting the Java Digital signature when they have logged into Blackboard, such as the one below.

Solution

1. Close ALL browser windows. (If you are using Internet Explorer make sure you also close down any Firefox browser windows and vice versa)

2. Log back into Blackboard and wait for a warning similar to the one above to appear.

3. Make sure that "Always trust content from this publisher" is ticked and click Run

What if the warning message does not appear?

1. Make sure that you have Java installed.
(You can check if Java is installed by clicking here (opens in a new window).)

2. If Java is installed, make sure that the version is 1.5.0_xx or later.
