Creating AssessmentsRole: Designers
Create a new Assessment Create a new assessment1. Click on the Build tab. 2. Go to the Home Page, folder or learning module where you would like the assessment to sit. 3. Click on the Assessments button under the Course Tools.
4. Click on Assessments 5. Click on Create Assessment.
6. In the Create Assessment window, type a title in the Title field. If required, type a description in the Description field. 7. Select the Type of assessment by clicking on the circle next to Quiz, Survey or Self Test. 8. Click on Save.
Note: The assessment will appear as a hidden item as it must contain at least one question before it can be shown to students. See 'Show a 'hidden' assessment' in this guide. Create and add new questions to an assessment1. Click on the Build tab.
2. Click on the ActionLinks icon
3. Click on Go to Assessment
4. Click on the Create Questions button.
5. From the drop-down list, click on a question type. For example, click on Multiple Choice. Note: You can create several types of Quiz Questions by selecting any of the categories of questions in the drop down menu.
7. Type a title in the Title field. 8. Type a question in the Question text field. If you wish to format the question, click on the Enable HTML Creator button if this is not already activated. The HTML Creator will also let you insert an image wherever you wish within the question text. 9. To insert an image at the bottom of the question text, click on the Browse button, then click on the box next to the required image and click OK. Remember to type a title for the image in the Image Title field.
10. Under Answers, select the answer mode and type the possible answer data. Remember to select the box next to the Correct response. If required, you may also type feedback on the answer in the Feedback field for some or all of the possible answers.
11. Under Settings, click on the circle next to the desired options.
12. Click on More Options to type any general feedback on the question. 13. Under More Options you can type notes and place the question in a new or existing category within the Question Database for organisational purposes.
14. Click Save. The question will now appear in the assessment. 15. If required, continue creating more questions, by clicking on Create Questions. 16. To adjust the points value for any question, type a new value in the appropriate Points field and click Update Total.
Add Assessment on Homepage1. Click on Assessments in the Build tab
2. Click on the drop down menu under Select. 3. Select Homepage or a Learning Module where you want the Assessment to sit. 4. Click on the Go Button
5. The Assessment will now appear on the Homepage
Set the properties for an assessment1. Click on the Build tab. Go to the Homepage or Learning Module where the Assessment sits. 2. Click on the ActionLinks icon 3. Click on Edit Properties
5. From here you can set the mode of the Question Delivery.
6. You can fix the duration of the Quiz.
7. You can set the way you wish to release the Student Score for the Assessment.
8. You can set the Results and Submission Properties. 9. Click on Save. Preview an assessment1. Go to the Homepage or Learning Module where the assessment sits. 2. Click on the ActionLinks icon 3. Click on Preview to see how students will see the assessment.
4. The Assessment will open in a new window.
5. When you have finished previewing, close the window. Show a 'hidden' assessment1. In the Build tab, go to the Homepage or Learning Module where the assessment sits. 2. Click on the ActionLinks icon 3. Click on Show Item
4. The Assessment will now be visible on the Homepage or Learning Module. Note: The assessment must contain at least one question before it can be shown to students. With the Selective Release tool you can also selectively show an assessment according to date, group, member or Grade Book criteria. For further information, refer to the Selective Release guides. |
