Creating and editing assignments in BlackboardRole: Designers Create an Assignment Create an assignment1. Click on the Build tab. 2. Go to the folder, learning module or Home Page where you wish to add the Assignment. 3. Click on Assignments under the Course Tools menu. Alternatively you can click on the Add Content Link drop down list, and select Assignments.
4. Select Assignments 5. Click on Create Assignment.
6. Type in a Title and Description. 7. You can also type in Instructions for the assignment. 8. To include additional files, click on the Add Attachments button.
9. Select the Student submission format i.e. Text or Web site, by clicking on the appropriate radio button . 10. Select the Assignment recipients by clicking on the appropriate radio button . If you are unsure, select Decide later.
11. Select the Due Date To create a corresponding event in the Calendar, click on the box next to this option. 12. Select the Cutoff Date
13. Select the Grading Options. Select one of the Grading options - alphanumeric or numeric. Note: If you want to use a Grading Form, you must create the grading form first before you can attach it to an assignment. Refer to the Grading Forms guides for further information. 14. Goals will have to be created using the Goals tool from the Course Tools menu, before these can be associated with this Assignment. 15. Click Save.
16. To give students access to the assignment, click on the ActionLinks
Edit an assignment1. Click on the Build tab. 2. Click on Assignments
3. Click on the ActionLinks
4. Click on Edit Properties
5. Make your changes. 6. Click Save. Note: It is only possible to edit an assignment which has not yet been released to students. Delete an assignment1. Click on the Build tab. 2. Click on Assignments
3. Click on the ActionLinks
4. Click on Delete
Set the release criteria for an assignment1. Click on the Build or Teach tab. 2. Click on Assignments 3. Click on the ActionLinks
4. Click on Set Release Criteria
5. Set the Release Criteria. (For further information, refer to the Selective Release guides.) 6. Click Save. Link Assignment to Home Page or Learning Module1. Select Assignments from the Course Tools menu
2. Select Assignment 1 by clicking in the box next to it. Then click on the drop down arrow next to Select. Choose Home Page or a Learning Module which has already been created. Click on the green Arrow next to the box. (For creating a Learning Module, refer to the Guide for Learning Modules)
3. Assignment 1 is now linked to the Home Page.
