Staff preview of Blackboard

Login from your my.monash portal

The link to Blackboard in your my.portal takes you directly to your Blackboard home page

1. You can go directly to your Blackboard home page using the links in your portal; these can found on:

  • your home page
  • the 'Monash University Studies Online' page in the 'Teaching' section of your 'Teaching and research' tab.

2. You can access all the resources available on the MUSO login page from your portal's 'Teaching' section, including support for Blackboard.

Note: Your portal will be the single point of access for Blackboard. If the portal is offline the portal login screen will provide an alternative link to Blackboard.

Blackboard home

Blackboard home page showing the Blackboard home tab and the availability dates in the course list

1. 'Blackboard home' will be the new name for your 'My MUSO' tab.

2. The course list will display the availability dates for each section. Availability dates specify the period during which students will be able to access each section.

Section home page

Section home page showing collapsable left side tools menus

1. In Blackboard the horizontal tool bar along the top of the MUSO section pages will be replaced by the 'Course Tools', 'Instructor Tools', 'Designer tools' and 'My Tools' menus, depending on which view you are using, and will be located down the left side of the screen. You can minimise these menus to display only the menu icons, giving you less clutter and more room on the page for your applications.

2. You can minimise the tools menus even further to hide their icons, making the page even less cluttered.
