MUSO Blackboard change of access point

Access to Blackboard for all staff and students is now via my.monash portal.  Please refer to the Blackboard preview for staff and students login links.

Blackboard configuration

The following Settings are turned off by default: 
Blogs, journals, student media library contributions, student weblink contributions, peer review, grading forms.

These settings are not locked and can be turned on from the manage course tool.
If you experience issues with tool settings, please contact your Faculty Administrator or MUSO Support for assistance.

• The HTML creator is available as an option – if you would like to use the HTML creator for entering text when available in the application click the “Enable HTML Creator” button.
• Alternatively, you can enable the HTML creator by default for yourself via the “My Settings” tool (see Blackboard tool changes).
• All levels in Blackboard now follow a consistent naming convention across Faculties and Business organisations.

My Files tool

• A My Files quota has been implemented for all users.
• Staff quota is 100 megabytes.
• Student quota is 25 megabytes. 
• The My Files area is separate to section content.  If a student has exceeded the quota they will not be prevented from submitting assignments or assessments.

Blackboard home

• The default colours set for the Blackboard home page comply with Monash University web standards.
• The default layout setting for the course list to display in 2 columns provides more area for the display of section names.
• Dates indicating a section’s availability to students are now included for each section in the course list.
• The default settings for layout and colour are individually customisable for all users.
