Blackboard tool settings update: 21 February 2008

The following settings have been changed from the release of Blackboard in November 2007.

Gradebook

  • The midterm and final grade columns will no longer be automatically created in new sections by default.
  • The default display of the grade book has been set to not display unenrolled members.
Unenrolled members’ data can be viewed on a per grade book basis by clicking the ‘Grade Book Options’ button and selecting ‘Show Unenrolled Member Data’ from the list.

Discussions

  • Tutors are no longer able to grade discussion topics.
  • When creating a new topic the option to allow students to edit their discussion posts is not ticked by default. To allow students to edit their posts the lecturer needs to opt-in by ticking the box.
