A system exception error displays when a Lecturer accesses the Assignment Dropbox

Symptom

When a Lecturer tries to access a student’s assignments from the Assignment drop box the user is presented with a system exception error page.

Severity

Minor: may affect lecturers and students and will not cause an interruption to normal business activities.

Resolution

The vendor has provided a fix that will be implemented 09 July 2009. Please contact MUSO Support if you are still experiencing issues after the implementation date.

Workaround

The Assignment Dropbox may also be accessed from the Assignments tool in the Course Tools.

  1. Click on Assignments
  2. Click on the assignment name you wish to view. The assignment drop box will display for that assignment.

To access the Assignment Dropbox from the Instructor tools:

From the section home page

  1. Click on the Teach tab
  2. In the Course tools, click 'Assignments'
  3. Click one of the assignments shown in that list. The Assignment Dropbox will be displayed. 
  4. In the Course tools click ‘Course content’ to return to the section home page
  5. In the Instructor tools, click 'Assignment Dropbox'. The Assignment Dropbox will be displayed.

These steps are valid only for the current Blackboard session. A user would need to repeat the steps each time Blackboard is accessed.
